Musical Journey & Artistic Achievements Born and raised in East Oakland and Sacramento, CA, Abrieel discovered her passion for music at age 8. Inspired by R&B, Neo Soul, Hip-Hop, and Gospel artists such as India Arie, Music SoulChild, Goapele and Lauryn Hill, her musical influences shaped her unique sound. Her inspiration deepened as she watched her older brothers write and record music during her middle school years, fueling her desire to pursue music full-time. At 15, she began branding herself as Abrieel, a nickname she created during high school, which quickly became a memorable stage identity. Over the past decade, she has performed at prominent venues and festivals across the West Coast, collaborating with notable artists. Her efforts earned her multiple Billboard Music Award (BMA) nominations in 2022, including Best Female New Artist, Best R&B Female, and Best Female Performer.
