Ayanna Jacobs-El (Pronounced: I-ya-na Jay-cobs-el) was born in Huntsville, Alabama and has had a lifelong love of music. She is a music producer, composer, singer-songwriter, arranger, alto/baritone saxophonist, DJ, and music instructor. She writes, teaches, and performs in a wide range of genres including classical, jazz, pop, funk, electronic, blues, and R&B. Ayanna began her musical journey at age five when her mother enrolled her in classical piano lessons, and at age nine she began honing her vocal talent. Throughout the years, she gained confidence as a jazz singer and improviser while singing with her Grandfather Benjamin's jazz trio at jam sessions and gigs. She began playing the alto saxophone in her middle school’s concert band. In the 9th grade, she began studying classical and jazz saxophone performance at the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA), in Birmingham, AL. Ayanna is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA with majors in Contemporary Writing and Production and Professional Music and minors in Writing for TV & New Media, Video Game Scoring, and Music Technology. In 2016, Ayanna founded her music production company, Ayanna Jacobs-El Productions, which provides music for films, games, recording artists, shows, and advertising. In addition to releasing music as Ayanna Jacobs-El, she creates music under the pseudonym El Ayzah Moon (Pronounced Eliza Moon). Her latest album Mood Phases (her first full-length project following her 2015 EP Metamorphosis) explores the wide range of emotions and mental states she has felt throughout the creation of the songs. Ayanna is currently based in Los Angeles and her vision is to have a positive impact on her listeners, through the messages conveyed in her music. In addition to music, she is a mental health advocate, nature lover, and dog Mom.
