Alessandra's Experience

Since 2006, I am the vocalist and lyricist and a co-producer of Lautmusik, a post-punk band based in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Following 2 EPs, “Black Clouds with Silver Linings” (2007) and “A Week of Mondays” (2008), the band released in 2011 its first full-length, “Lost in the Tropics”, produced by Eduardo Suwa. The album was critically acclaimed throughout the country and made it to a number of Album of The Year lists. The band’s first official music video (“Mai”), also released in 2011, was extensively aired on MTV Brazil and featured on NME online. In 2012, Lautmusik supported two international gigs – Swedish band The Radio Dept.’s, in Sao Paulo, and Brooklyn-based A Place to Bury Strangers’, in Porto Alegre. In 2013, the band was chosen by Robert Smith as the opening act for The Cure at Arena Anhembi, in Sao Paulo. A crowdfunding initiative funded production of a second music video, “Tugboat”, released in 2013 and aired on major Brazilian TV channels. The quintet has released its second full-length, “Juniper”, in October 2015, and the album has been featured in several Album of The Year lists. We have recently released an animation music video for “Stargazer”, and are currently recording our third album.
