About Altea Ali

My name is Altea Ali and I’m an Albanian-American singer-songwriter currently studying at Boston College. I was born in Albania and grew up between the U.S. and Albania. I'm currently developing my sound as an artist, drawing from the voices and styles that have shaped my musical identity and blending cinematic pop-soul with power ballads. I released my debut single, "Silk Breathing," in February, 2026 and I am currently working on a series of releases spanning cinematic ballads, synth-pop, pop-rock, and soul. Alongside my own artistry, I’m passionate about the business and community behind music. At Boston College, I founded the Music Industry Network to create a space for students interested in both the creative and business sides of the industry. I’ve always believed it can be difficult to imagine a future for yourself without being able to see what that future looks like in real time, so creating opportunities for students to connect with and learn from people actively working in music has become especially important to me.

Altea's Experience

I’ve been able to apply my skills in a lot of different areas of music, both creatively and on the business side. Songwriting is probably where I use them most naturally. I write for myself but also love writing for other artists, which has pushed me to work across different genres and learn how to step into someone else’s perspective while still creating something that feels honest and specific to them. Through my A&R experience working with Underscore Talent, I’ve gotten to research and discover artists, think about potential collaborations with existing clients, and find people who could make sense together creatively. I’ve also worked on email and artist outreach and researched potential brand partnerships. My research experience at the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship has also been useful in music. I spent a lot of time researching companies, trends, and initiatives and turning large amounts of information into concise “Knowledge Requests.” I’ve found myself applying that same process to A&R, artist research, partnerships, and outreach. Having experience on both the creative and business sides has helped me better understand how the different parts of the industry connect and how I can navigate them as both an artist and an emerging industry professional.
