About Amy Speace

I'm a Nashville-based singer/songwriter who also produces and teaches workshops and retreats. I was discovered in 2005 by Judy Collins who signed me to Wildflower Records and released my debut "Songs For Bright Street" in 2006. Since then, I've made 5 solo records, 1 with my side project Applewood Road (Gearbox Records, UK), and my upcoming release (Proper Records) comes out September 6th, "Me and the Ghost of Charlemagne." I've had songs cut by Judy Collins, Red Molly, Memphis Hall of Famer Sid Selvidge and others. I've played festivals, clubs, cafe, and living rooms, even a nudist camp, all over the world. I teach performance and songwriting, and have done so at Rocky Mtn Folks Fest Song School, Kerrville Song School, Berklee College of Music and others. I run my own "Songs From the Well" Songwriting Retreat 2x a year in Ashland City, TN. I have produced RJ Cowdrey's release "What If This Is All There Is" (2019) and am working on 3 other projects in 2019. I'm also working on book called "Menopausal Mommy: Adventures in Art and Motherhood on the Edge of Fertility" about having my son, Huck, at age 50 and the challenges of being an artist and a mother.

Amy's Experience

I’ve just started producing records in Nashville. I like to produce pared down, acoustic-based artists, building the production around the song. I work with other engineers in Nashville. I play guitar, piano and sing. I have worked as a studio and live harmony/backup singer.
