About Andie Cascioli

Hello there! My name is Andie and I have primarily worked as a live-sound engineer in Columbus, Ohio over the last decade. I graduated from Capital University in 2012 with a BA in Audio Production and returned to Cap in 2020 as the first femme-queer professor in the Music Tech Department. With the live event industry in shambles, I've pivoted into teaching more courses. As of this spring, I'll be teaching: Live Sound Production & Professionalism, Intro to Music Technology, and Senior Audio Seminar! I love volunteering with the local Grrrls Rock Organization as the audio tech and drum instructor. My hope is to create a safer, more inclusive music industry for the folks coming up after me.

Andie's Experience

My focus has been primarily in local live-sound reinforcement. I love working with local businesses and music orgs/venues to provide live-sound resources. I held the position of co-head house engineer and assistant booking agent at Victory’s Live in Columbus, Ohio from late 2011 through 2014. Then moved into a position at The Scarlet and Grey Cafe as the Front of House engineer and main booking agent. After leaving S&G, I continued her freelancing through local churches, small venues, private and corporate events, and weddings. Teaching and volunteering are close to my heart. Students from my alma-mater have shadowed with me in live event settings, I hav given presentations on Women in the Music Industry, spoken on panels for Women in STEM and the MeToo Movement in the Music Industry. I love volunteering with the local Grrrls Rock Organization as the audio tech and drum instructor. My hope is to create a safer, more inclusive music industry for the folks coming up after me. In the summer of 2018, I joined the amazing team of women at the podcast: Women of Wonder, as their recording and editing engineer. Over the course of a year, I recorded and edited season 2, which includeed: 16 main episodes and an additional 16 minisodes! I returned to Capital University in January 2020 as the first femme-queer professor in the Music Tech Department. With the live event industry in shambles, I’ve pivoted into teaching more courses. As of this spring, I’ll be teaching: Live Sound Production & Professionalism, Intro to Music Technology, and Senior Audio Seminar!
