I studied sound engineering at SAE in Mexico City. I have always found the emotional power of sound and its technology fascinating. There is something magical about understanding and shaping the technology of sound… creating a whole world around something that is so intangible. I have always been deeply involved with music and found sound engineering to be an art form within which I could express myself. Music is my everyday reminder that the world can be chaotic and difficult but people can always get together and find an honest and pure expression of themselves. While studying at SAE México I had the opportunity to work with respected engineers. I then worked for 1 year at Universal Music México in the A&R department. This experience was challenging as up until that time my main focus had been the technical aspects of sound, but during my time at Universal Music I got the opportunity to work in different areas, and widen my understanding of the music industry. The music industry has many facets and I became committed to understanding music at every level. I started pulling cables, assisting recording sessions, editing for films, live sound, even artists’ psychology. I wanted to get involved in the production so i started to do stage managing, logistics for music events, operations, staff manager. I wanted to feel connected with the artists, to understand their needs, so I did hospitality, artist management, booker and director of logistics of the tours for 3 booking agencies, one in Colombia and two in Berlin. To further develop my understandings, I became label manager of a Berlin and Paris record label. Here I got the chance to develop my creative ideas. I brought, new projects involving musical and visual artists to the label and worked on the development of these artists. Nowadays i am manager of Apollo Studios in Berlin, where i developed together with my partner, “Touching Sound”, a series of music production courses and workshops, where we invite different artists to share with our students some knowledge. In the studio i take care as well of the bookings and i am constantly finding possible artists to collaborate with, new and exciting projects. At the heart of my ambition is a passion to connect people and develop teamwork. As i´ve learned with the years, collaboration is key and i am in constant search of new and more effective ways to optimize collaboration at every level. My engagement is in creating life - changing experiences. I´ve always loved to be on the other side, making things happen.
