About Andrea Wittgens
NYC-based alt-pop artist Andrea Wittgens is a sonic shapeshifter. Over a career spanning two decades, the singer-songwriter and pianist has cultivated a dynamic aesthetic that bridges classical precision with the grit of early punk, 80s new wave, and jazz. Her ability to weave raw, honest lyrics into adventurous pop soundscapes has earned her comparisons to icons like St. Vincent, Kate Bush, and Fiona Apple.
A master keyboardist and hypnotic vocalist, Wittgens has released six albums of original music, including her latest critically acclaimed LP, Big Dreams Little Earthlings. Produced by Grammy nominees Ainjel Emme (Violet Grohl, Kim Gordon, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Anthony Lopez (Violet Grohl, Lil Yachy, Modest Mouse) as well as Wittgens herself, the album is a sweeping synth-soaked love letter to the pomp and passion of the 1980s, as expressed by woman who lived through the decades that followed.
Originally from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Andrea was raised on a childhood soundtrack of 80s synth-pop and her father’s old jazz records. Her first formal training was as a classical pianist, a path she pursued through university before pivoting to head west, where she cut her teeth as a singer-songwriter in Seattle's post-grunge dive bars. Her versatile talent has led to collaborations with multi-platinum producer Bob Power (Me’shell N’Degeocello, The Roots, Erykah Badu) and Johnny Sangster (Mudhoney, Neko Case), Geoff Stanfeild (Jason Isbell, Sun Kill Moon) as well as song placements on in TV and film (Paramount+, Disney+, and The CW). Recently, she expanded her repertoire by scoring award-winning short films Last Hope and Little Mouse.
A dedicated collaborator, she remains an passionate member of the Goffin & King Foundation and the Holiday Music Motel Songfest communities. Wittgens is also a voting member of the NYC chapter of the Recording Academy.

Andrea' Experience
I’m a singer-songwriter, pianist, keyboardist, arranger, composer, producer and educator with more than two decades of experience creating, recording and performing original music. I’ve released six projects of original music, including my latest critically acclaimed album, “Big Dreams Little Earthlings”, and have toured internationally as both a solo artist and working musician. I also write and record in French: I’ve released original French-language music, am currently developing a new collection of French songs, and will be releasing a French-language remix of one of my previously released songs this year. Throughout my recordings, I’ve remained deeply involved in songwriting, arranging, vocal production, keyboards and overall creative direction, collaborating with Grammy-winning producers Bob Power, Ainjel Emme and Anthony Paul Lopez.
As a pianist, keyboardist and vocalist, I’ve performed extensively as a solo artist, arranger and supporting musician, working and performing with artists including Kate Vargas, Eric McFadden, James Hall, Pat MacDonald, Louise Goffin, Jacque Ryal and KALEN. My classical training and background in music theory inform both my songwriting and arranging, while my home studio allows me to compose, demo and produce my own work, including keyboard and synth arrangements, vocal stacks and other production elements. I composed original scores for the award-winning short films “Little Mouse” and “Last Hope”, and I regularly explore the intersection of music and visual storytelling through video editing, lyric art and other multimedia work. I recently recorded a collection of piano+strings based Neo Classical pieces for release in 2027.
I also maintain an active teaching practice in piano, voice and songwriting, drawing on my experience as a working artist to help other musicians develop their technique and discover their own creative voices. I’m an active member of the Goffin & King Foundation and Holiday Music Motel songwriting communities, as well as SONA and She Is The Music. I’m also a voting member of the Recording Academy, and my recorded work has been submitted for Grammy® consideration.
