About Anusha Savi

A Carnatic training in South Asian classical music, years spent in a fierce a cappella environment, and a heavy soul/pop influence converge to create Anusha Savi’s uniquely alternative pop sound. She bridges the gap between her indian heritage and the mainstream. Described as an “insanely talented star with powerful vocal presence and melody” Anusha Savi (she/her) is making her mark in the Bay Area both as a vocalist and a performer. As a Tamil American woman, her goal is to share authentic stories that are fresh, enticing, uplifting and moving. She was born and raised in the East Bay Area and attended UC Davis. The varied experiences of working in health, technology, business, wine-making, and scientific research have informed her life and music material to create something truly magical. Indian and South Asian representation in the mainstream pop and r&b music in the west has been burgeoning and growing, like a renaissance. Anusha Savi is a part of this renaissance. She fills the hole in this industry to inspire and empower a generation of women and girls, who were once just like her so that they don’t have to grow up without hearing or seeing their voices and experiences shared on popular radio. Under her current mentorship under pop legend producer duo, Stargate, and the collaboration of the next wave of up and coming writers/producers/artists at LAAMP, she is on her way to being a leading voice in the space.

Anusha's Experience

I have been a working artist and songwriter for the last five years. Currently I am working in a music incubator out on my producer duo Stargate to create songs for 25 other artists and myself. I have performed in 2 breaking sound shows, including one at the Peppermint Club. I am actively pitching songs I’ve written to major artists and looking to connect more with other women and femmes in this industry.
