AYGYUL (she/they) is a Vienna-based singer, songwriter, and producer, and an unapologetic voice for the LGBTQ+ community. AYGYUL is widely recognized as one of the most compelling live performers in her scene. Her sound merges layered electronic textures with elements of alt and dark pop, garage- inspired grooves, and live drums that preserve a sense of human presence. Her vocals move fluidly from intimate pop delivery to occasional opera elements, used not as a stylistic label but as an expressive tool. Currently, AYGYUL is working on her debut album “YOU AND I”, supported by Musikfonds Förderung, a fund promoting Austrian music locally and internationally. Her upcoming single, “God’s Daughter”, is a defiant Electronic Post-Pop anthem about breaking generational silence and reclaiming one’s voice. Her musical journey began in childhood with classical opera training, laying the foundation for her dynamic vocal range. At 16, she discovered beatboxing and live looping, igniting a passion for experimentation and performance innovation. Self-taught in music production through online resources, she developed her artistry independently, crafting a distinctive sound that resonates deeply with her audience. With over 500 performances at national and international festivals and events, AYGYUL has captivated audiences at major stages including Sisters Festival at Arena Wien, CSD München, Vienna Pride, Frequency Festival, Waves Festival, Viennale, Sofar Sounds, Kultursommer Wien hosted by Conchita Wurst, and Amnesty International events, performing on stages ranging from large arenas to intimate venues. In 2015, she performed at the opening ceremony of the 16th FINA World Aquatics Championship, broadcast in 198 countries worldwide, marking a significant milestone in her career. In 2019, she won 1st place in the “Solo Live Looping” category at the Moscow A Cappella Festival, one of the largest a cappella festivals in the world. In 2023, she won Vienna’s “Beat Melange” beat battle, establishing herself as one of the city’s most original and powerful music producers. AYGYUL has also collaborated as a music producer and content creator with leading brands such as Ableton, Adam Audio, Focusrite Group, Sequential, Lewitt, DM, and Die Grünen. She collaborates with her partner of eight years, Pati Avish (they/she), who co-writes her lyrics. This creative partnership brings emotional precision and internal coherence to her love narratives, shaping a cohesive artistic universe where the personal and the artistic are inseparable. Born and raised in Kazan, AYGYUL moved to Vienna at 21 in search of a place where she could live openly and safely as an LGBTQ+ person. Today, her work stands as a testament to artistic independence, emotional courage, and the transformative power of music.
