About VELMAS band

VELMAS is a Brazilian female band whose sound is based on 70s rock, grunge and dream pop. The group – formed by Dani Moraes on vocals, Bárbara Mazzi on guitars, Hendy Almeida on bass guitar and Luisa Migueres on drums – came together in 2023 and their first single, "Zombie Girl", was launched in September 2024. During their first year as a band, the four musicians played in the underground scene of São Paulo, Brazil, and covered iconic songs by female artists, which ultimately inspired them to create their own sound. Their goal was to translate their energetic live performances to songs that were fierce and vulnerable at the same time. Their debut EP was recorded in July 2024 at Elektro Studio, with producer Daniel Stunges and released in October 4th. It's a five-track ensemble named after the last song: "Witch in the Making". The tracks reflect what VELMAS is all about: a homage to the most creative women in rock that inspired them, and hopefully an inspiration for women and girls all around to embrace imperfection, serving as a soundtrack to their self-acceptance journey.
