About Caro C

Caro C is a composer, producer and performer of adventurous electronica. She employs electronic and acoustic instruments, including her voice and found sounds to blur the boundaries of sound and music. She loves how everyday objects and sounds like two glass tumblers ricocheting together like snooker balls, uncover the magic in the mundane and provide a unique atmosphere. Her live shows have therefore included playing a ping pong ball at The British Library and twanging a ruler at The Royal Institute (of Science). She also popped up on CBBC, helping Dick and Dom recreate the Dr Who theme with pig sounds and on BBC 6 Music with Nemone and presenting a 3-minute epiphany for Mary Anne Hobbs. As a professional artist, Caro also creates music and sound for other art forms including theatre and dance, often supported by Arts Council England. She is the instigator and project manager of Delia Derbyshire Day, an electronic music charity championing pioneering artists past, present and future. She is also a host for Sound On Sound magazine’s electronic music podcast, worked as a researcher on Lisa Rovner’s feature film “Sisters of Transistors” and enjoys empowering others via her electronic music education work – Caro has taught (electronic) music in about 50 schools in Manchester.

Caro's Experience

Composing music and sound with words for my own Caro C moniker as well as performing live and touring. I also love acting as a midwife for the creative vision of others and other artforms including dance, theatre, film and sculpture. All of these creative skills are backed up with efficient and considerate admin and project management skills making sure to deliver on time, to budget and in harmonious cooperation with production team. I am also the project manager for Delia Derbyshire Day, a growing electronic music charity.
