About Cecilie Oerbaek

Hi, I’m Cecilie — I recently completed the Music Business program at UCLA Extension, where I deepened my understanding of the industry I’ve always been passionate about. I just wrapped up a six-month internship in the Sync department at APG (Artist Partner Group), which gave me valuable hands-on experience in music licensing and supervision. Before transitioning into music, I worked in marketing and property management. Coming from a business-oriented family, I’ve always had a strong sense of entrepreneurship — but music has been my true passion since childhood. I used to be a drummer, and that love for rhythm and creativity is what led me to pursue a career in the music business. I’m excited to continue growing in this space and contributing wherever I can.

Cecilie's Experience

Throughout my career, I’ve developed a strong foundation in both the music industry and the business world. My journey began in Denmark, where I worked in marketing and co-owned a clothing brand. These roles gave me hands-on experience in business operations, social media, branding, customer service, and working with international partners — all of which helped me build a solid understanding of how to run and grow a business. After moving to Los Angeles, I pursued my passion for music by enrolling in the Music Business program at UCLA Extension. The program covered everything from A&R, licensing, and publishing to touring and marketing. Alongside my coursework, I interned at APG (Artist Publishing Group) in the Sync department, where I supported creative pitching, curated playlists, managed metadata using DISCO, and participated in strategy meetings. This internship gave me real-world insight into the music industry and deepened my skills in music supervision and licensing. Together, these experiences have given me a well-rounded skill set — combining creativity, strategy, and practical business knowledge — that I’m excited to keep building on as I grow my career in music.
