About Charmille Walters

I played the flute, piccolo, and percussion (xylophone, triangle, chimes, and timpani) in middle and high school. I was once a part of an all-female percussion group and enjoyed playing the clave, cowbell, shekere, maracas, congas, Batá, and Ewe drums. I left the group to pursue a career working behind-the-scenes of live cultural arts and entertainment events for both non-profit and commercial projects. Now I only play in private for my own spiritual expression. Charmille Walters aka Charm production staff credits includes local crew for celebrity music concerts, Broadway musicals, plays, dance concerts, and live televised shows providing stagehand, wardrobe, light console, and follow spot operator services. She has worked at state-of-the-art multi-space venues with 250 - 2,600 seating capacity through the I.A.T.S.E. Local 500 hiring hall. Prior to joining the union worklist, she mostly worked in arenas and stadiums with 21,000 - 65,000 capacity. Charm has also produced educational and spiritual events with renowned local, national, and international artists and scholars as a Program Coordinator at Florida International University after she received her B.A. in dance. Ms. Walters is the President of Rhythmic Rapture, a non-profit organization that focuses on the healing arts, rhythmic spiritual practices, and Multiple Intelligence Theory using cross-curriculum integration with the arts. She provides creative arts education and production services to other non-profit organizations for special projects aligned with Rhythmic Rapture’s mission to advance the healing powers of music and dance. Education and preservation are at the center of the three pathways to healing - the Performing Arts, Science, and Spirit. Charm gives back to her community by serving as a panelist for the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs grants as well as an active member for the Americans for the Arts and the Lions Club International. The Lions Club is a social welfare organization providing services in 5 global causes – environment, hunger, diabetes, vision, and childhood cancer.
