About Deb Zemke

Deb Zemke is a songwriter and music publisher/owner of Head South Music which was founded in 1992. Head South Music (ASCAP) represents a wide variety of songs from talented writers and musicians that cover almost every genre of music. Originally from Chicago, Illinois she moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1996 after being recognized with the "Horizon Award", the "Most Promising Female Songwriter Award", and the "Co-writer of the Year Award" from the Tennessee Songwriters Association International. Deb is also a 3x contributing author to the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books. Her story "Saving August"  appears in Chicken Soup For The Soul: The Dog Really Did That?; "The Weathervane" appears in the book Chicken Soup For The Soul: Angels All Around; and "The Inheritance" appears in the recently released Chicken Soup For The Soul: Miracles & Divine Intervention. Her music credits over the years include over 3 dozen indie recordings including the single "Fake Roses" recorded in 2020 by Australian Artist "Portia Clark". Deb loves to use her songs as an advocate for promoting social causes. One such effort is her song “Got To Believe” which she turned into a music video that includes photo submissions from people all over the world holding “Believe Signs" in 9 different languages. The song inspired such a following that it led her to create the “Got To Believe: I Believe Project” Facebook page where she continues to post uplifting inspirational photos and quotes.
