Hi! My name is Mel aka Ella Favela, and I am a 28 year old hip hop artist comprising 1/3 of the boutique record label, Trapcity, inc. (of which I am a 50% owner and operator). I live and work with my boyfriend Str8 Gutta, and we are about to launch into our first campaign season as Trapcity. I will be releasing my rookie LP, "5 Feet Tall and Bulletproof," in 2019. The album is a tribute to my late father, Dr. Professor M. A. Satyro. In writing this album, I channeled every woman who ever inspired me through my headphones, including Ms. Keys, who inspired me to learn piano and continue singing through life's storms. Never did I think I'd be applying to the SITM movement, let alone living my dreams of one day putting out a record. I was inspired to join this movement by my boyfriend, and decided to do so for a number of reasons. Most importantly, I feel that there is so much to gain from the knowledge, encouragement, and guidance of other women who have more knowledge than I do and who are willing to teach me.
