Erika's Experience

I’ve applied my musical skills and knowledge in various ways, both personally and professionally. As a vocalist, I’ve honed my ability to collaborate and perform, skills that have enriched my teaching and mentoring. My experience singing in a collegiate choir taught me the value of discipline, teamwork, and interpreting complex musical arrangements—lessons I’ve carried into leadership and creative projects. Through The Music Serket, I’ve cultivated skills in critical analysis, storytelling, and audience engagement, using my platform to amplify underrepresented voices in music. As an educator, I’ve integrated music into humanities instruction, creating interdisciplinary lessons that connect students with history, culture, and self-expression. These experiences have allowed me to bridge my passion for music with meaningful work that inspires others.
