About Emma Dream

In the small town of Bristol, Tennessee, known as the birthplace of country music, Emma Dream grew up square dancing and listening to hog calls and old-time country music at The Carter Family Fold. As a young girl, the roots of her musical journey were planted deep, nourished by the traditional hymns and folk melodies sung by her grandmother. Her time on the road, performing poetry at venues across the U.S., and living in artistic communities in California, shaped her into a versatile artist. Emma’s sound is deeply rooted in the folk tradition, with influences from beat poets like Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac. In 2022, she recorded two original songs in Nashville that she wrote while recovering from a breakup during lockdown in Utah. Her debut single, Country Girls, explores the landscape of heartbreak and loneliness, and the expectations placed on women raised in the South, but at its core it's about resilience and learning to follow your heart.
