About Estelle Ocegueda

Hi! I'm a versatile vocalist, songwriter, and performer with formal training in classical and jazz voice, and additional experience in R&B, indie, indie rock, folk, and pop. My knowledge in vocal pedagogy allows for a lot of flexibility in my timbre and sound, so my voice can fit very well into many genres of music as well as blend seamlessly with other individuals or in a group. I've traveled both nationally and internationally with the Mount San Antonio College Chamber Singers and renowned vocal jazz ensemble Singcopation, and receive a Downbeat Jazz Magazine award for "Outstanding Soloist" in June 2022. Currently, I am on the journey of writing, producing, and performing my own music while also being a founding member and lead soprano of the vocal jazz group "Ransom Notes."

Estelle's Experience

I am a versatile vocalist, performer, and songwriter with experience in live performance and studio recording. I’ve had formal training in classical voice and jazz, and experience in R&B, gospel, indie/folk, and pop. I can sight read sheet music, have amazing tonal memory and a good ear, basic skills and proficiency in guitar and keyboard. I’ve traveled nationally and to multiple countries in Europe with classical chamber choir “The Mount San Antonio Chamber Singers” and vocal jazz ensemble “Singcopation” where I received a Downbeat Jazz Magazine award for “Outstanding Soloist” in June 2022. I have a passion for performance and songwriting, and still use those skills in a new and up-and-coming jazz ensemble that I’ve start with my friends from college in addition to writing and performing my own music. My background in a large ensemble also makes me ideal for back-up vocals in either a studio or live performance setting, since I know how to mold my voice to blend and fit very well with others.
