About Julie Bernouis

I came from Paris to London age 21, having started working in the industry with Radiohead's French promoter, full of hope. In London, I worked many festivals productions amongst which Reading and Glastonbury and then finally ended up working for Domino Records. I stayed there for quite a while, mothering my artists and my staff as I was office manager, project manager assistant and also was doing record production for a side label. I ran my own club night My Ex-Boyfriend's Records with my best friend Jodie who worked also there. That's where I met the lovely Franz Ferdinand who took me on tour with them as their production coordinator. I then landed the same job with The Strokes, and intermittently toured with them and also worked as a promoter rep at Eat Your Own Ears. Julian then offered me a job in New York at his record label Cult Records where I was his project manager and personal assistant. I left as the tour life was calling again. I, since, have worked for FKA Twigs, MØ, Banks, Walking shapes, The Kills, LCD Soundsystem, and now John Legend without neglecting the bands that gave me my first chances (as I'm still currently touring with Franz Ferdinand and The Strokes). I also now am singing and writing music and have an EP out as Turismo Girlfriend World Tour. Like many women, I multitask.

Julie's Experience

I have been in the music industry for about 20 years and have been in many live and record labels positions. I have worked for a lot of artists, mainly in the indie rock genre, in marketing/ promotion and evidently live/ touring as I have been switching bwtween the two during this period. I’m now highly committed to the live industry which excited me more and being a creator, which now shares the rest of my attention. I have released an EP recently and I’m focusing on writing more. All the experiences I have accumulated throughout my career have helped me being a rounder more confident player, sociable and happy to be in this industry, in every possible role that I play. As per what my bio says, I now have worked/ toured for Radiohead, Franz Ferdinand, The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, Banks. The Kills, MØ, John Legend etc.
