About Haley Davis

Hi, I'm Haley! I am currently going into my senior year at Northwestern University majoring in Communication Studies, minoring in International Studies, and earning an Integrated Marketing Certificate. Outside of the classroom, my passions lie in music and graphic design. I have been playing guitar, piano, and ukulele since middle school and started songwriting seriously at the beginning of high school. I wrote and released my first EP my junior year of high school, and wrote and released my first album my sophomore year of college. I am also an executive member of The .WAV Company, an organization that holds workshops, connects and promotes student artists, and hosts concerts for student artists (which I sometimes perform at too). I also was the Co-Head of Promotions for Northwestern's student-run music festival, Dillo Day, and helped brand the festival, design crew and student merchandise, run Dillo social media accounts, and engage the student body with creative artist announcements.

Haley's Experience

Mayfest organizes the largest student-run music festival in the country known as Dillo Day. Joining the organization my freshman year solely for my love of music, I had no idea that I would find another true passion. Never having designed anything in my life, I was able to take the reigns of creative design by working my way up and collaborating with teams through Mayfest. Starting with Canva and many drafts of terrible designs, I finally achieved proficiency in Photoshop through working on numerous graphic projects for Mayfest’s promotional material. Working my way up in the organization starting as a general board member, to a promotion’s committee graphic designer, to Executive Co-Head of Promotions, Mayfest is responsible for my growth not only as a digital marketer, but as a leader and team member in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. . WAV is another Northwestern organization that has helped me grow as a designer, content creator, and collaborator. Desperate to find a music community on campus as a freshman for singer-songwriters like myself, I was so lucky to be a part of .WAV’s origins when it first came about in winter of 2018. A friend of mine founded the organization, and I attended the first songwriting sessions and performed at the first show. I still love performing at shows and events with .WAV today.
