About Hélène Beaulieu

Hélène Beaulieu cooks up songs dangling between folk and classical worlds. With ukulele firmly in hand, Hélène juggles contemporary music with improvisation, with a well measured traditional approach. Either in solo or with a band, she constantly pushes back her art's limits and is always on the look-out for new challenges. He crystal clear voice will transport you to a surreal work, both fragile and poetic.

Hélène's Experience

Hélène Beaulieu was raised in rural Quebec listening to the country songs of Buck Owens and Wilf Carter, she obtained a Master’s degree in classical guitar from l’Université de Montréal. She now finds a great demand for her skills as a performer, event curator, and composer for theatre and educational projects. In 2012 she participated in Chant’Ouest, a contest and showcase for emerging francophone musicians in western Canada, and won the SOCAN prize there for best song. She writes and plays in a variety of ensembles, and her projects have taken her out of the province to perform.
