Shif is a singer-songwriter, lyricist, producer, sound designer, and multi-instrumentalist based in the New York area. Her sound is informed by a eclectic range of influences, from pop punk to rap to experimental jazz. Shif is passionate about music theory and breaking boundaries; she’s not afraid to experiment with unconventional scales, slam poetry lyrics, and messages hidden in spelled-out chord progressions. Shif is excited to refine her craft at Rutgers University and begin a career in the music business.

I am an aspiring music manager and songwriter. I am currently a student at Rutgers University working toward degrees in business and music production. I write lyrics and music constantly. I play guitar, bass, piano, and ukulele and sing.

On behalf of She Is The Music, it is with great pleasure that we recognize the below women for their extraordinary contributions to the music industry at our inaugural Women Sharing The Spotlight cocktail event.

Women Sharing The Spotlight is founded in the ethos that when we make more space for each other, when we bring more women into the room, we create a vibrant spirit and ecosystem of mentorship, growth and opportunity -- together. This is a unique event for industry leaders to not only converge and celebrate -- but to share their platforms, their voices, and their strength with one another and with the next generations of women forging the path ahead.

The list has been selected by our advisory council as one of 50 exceptional women to be celebrated for your 20+ years of remarkable achievement, contribution and impact in music.

Rooted in the conviction that 'We Are Stronger Together', we have asked each honoree to nominate another woman they admire to share the spotlight.

Women Sharing The Spotlight is envisioned as an annual celebration, creating a platform to elevate and empower women who are shaping the future of music.
