About Alicia Walter

Known for her “near-cosmic voice” (WIRED) and “stratosphere of songwriting all her own” (Consequence of Sound), Alicia Walter is a New York City singer-songwriter whose debut 2021 album, I Am Alicia (Sooper Records), garnered indie acclaim from American and European audiences. Walter, accompanied by her band, draws comparisons to timeless songwriters like Carole King and Carly Simon, while her style of piano and voice is distinctly her own.

Alicia's Experience

I released two albums with my band, Oshwa, before releasing my debut solo album, I Am Alicia, on Sooper Records in 2021. My second album premieres in 2023 on BIG EGO Records. I’ve toured the country many times, performing in venues of all types. In 2019, I was featured solo vocalist in the world premiere ballet, “The Trees, The Trees,” with Pacific Northwest Ballet, performing for 22,000 patrons. I’ve been awarded the New York Foundation for the Arts New Work Grant, and I’ve been commissioned to write music for percussionist Evan Chapman and ESOPUS Magazine.
