Raised in Nassau, Bahamas, Phephi began releasing covers on Soundcloud in middle school under the name "Sofie," but changed her name as she matured and found her style. She began quietly recording, producing, and mixing songs of her own in her bedroom and dorm. Since then, she has independently released her first mixtape, "MUSE," in 2016, and her second, "EDGE," in 2017. Phephi’s sensual and shimmering vocals now decorate instrumentals with honest and vulnerable lyrics.
