About Janet Noh

Janet Noh is an international award-winning classical pianist, pop-R&B singer, songwriter, producer, and musical theater writer. Initially admitted to Juilliard, she took an unconventional path—earning a degree from Yale and launching her career as a Wall Street investment banker before returning to music. Awarded a composing scholarship to NYU Tisch, she earned her MFA and made her Broadway debut in a principal role. This diverse background in both music and business ultimately led her to rediscover her passion for music in a new light, diving into the world of pop. Her music—studied at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center Theater, and Columbia University—blends the timelessness of classical piano, the drama of musical theater storytelling, and the modern soundscape of pop songwriting and production, all rooted in her belief that “Music is the universal language of the heart.” She has performed to sold-out audiences at Lincoln Center, Broadway theaters, and major cities across the U.S., Asia, and Australia, with her debut EP Love Me More reaching over 1 million listeners. Janet is deeply committed to mental health advocacy, particularly in supporting women and girls who have experienced bullying. She is donating all proceeds from her single Oh Child to the Korean American Family Service Center, a nonprofit that assists survivors of domestic violence. Beyond her work as a singer-songwriter, she also serves as a resident composer and teaching artist at Lincoln Center Theater and gave a TED Talk on her journey from Wall Street to music. Currently, Janet is working on her debut full-length album, set to launch later this year. This project showcases her eclectic influences, merging her virtuosic classical piano with soulful pop melodies and deep, hard-hitting grooves—a bold, genre-defying fusion of storytelling and musicianship. More than just a musical statement, this album is an honest and deeply personal expression of Janet’s evolution—one that took her from darkness to healing. By sharing her most vulnerable and authentic self through music, she hopes to help listeners feel seen, uplifted, and empowered on their own journeys.
