About Jasmin Klinger

My name is Jasmin Klinger and I am a multi-instrumentalist musician, sound designer and composer based in New York City. I began composing music and writing songs as a child, and fronted my first band at the age of 12. Since, I appeared with numerous rock, blues and jazz ensembles across my native Israel, and in special performances in New York City, handling vocals as well as lead guitar, bass, piano, harmonica and flute. At 15, I began an apprenticeship at an independent recording studio, and was soon producing and engineering albums for other musicians. I earned my first film credits when I was 19, producing and engineering the musical score for the feature documentary “State of Suspension,” by Benny Bruner. Later on, along with Daniel Dworsky, I co-composed and recorded the music for Brunner’s “The Great Book Robbery” documentary film. Those projects mark the beginning of my professional path in the world of music and sound for film.

Jasmin's Experience

I started performing at the age of 12 yo. as singer and guitarist all over my home country of Israel. I performed covers of classic American Blues, Folk, Jazz and Soul songs with my band. At 14, I started an apprenticeship at a local music recording studio lead by Daniel Dworsky who later hired me to produce, engineer and mix different artists. At 18 I wrote my first film score for the documentary film The Great Book Robbery that was aired on Al Jazeera. After my mandatory military service, I began studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston. I later transferred to City University of New York where I graduated in 2018 with a BA in music with a concentration in Sonic Arts. Since graduating I’ve been working as a freelance composer, songwriter and post-sound editor in the music and film business at the Power Station studios, Gigantic Studios and Gramercy Post among others. My work has been featured at numerous film festivals such as the Tribeca film festival among others.
