Jimena's Experience

I have developed both the artistic musical side and the engineering side as important aspects of my life, academically and profesionally. Artistically, I’ve focused my work as a singer-songwriter over the years, but I’ve always been curious and tried to collaborate with others (creating music for short films, recording instruments for other projects, etc.). Also, I’ve actively participated in the recording, editing and mixing process of my latest album, while also being the producer. On the technology side, I’m a Signal Processing and AI Engineer, working as an R&D Engineer. I’ve managed to mix both worlds being a part of the staff of the University of the Republic (Montevideo, Uruguay), where I’ve been a teacher of the Music and Technology department of the Arts Faculty.

Women Sharing The Spotlight is founded in the ethos that when we make more space for each other, when we bring more women into the room, we create a vibrant spirit and ecosystem of mentorship, growth and opportunity -- together. This is a unique event for industry leaders to not only converge and celebrate -- but to share their platforms, their voices, and their strength with one another and with the next generations of women forging the path ahead.

Rooted in the conviction that 'We Are Stronger Together', we have asked each honoree to nominate another woman they admire to share the spotlight.
