About Jude Dexter Smith

I started my music career at Oxford University Press in the Contemporary Classical Music Promotion office back in 2000. From there I joined, what was then Universal Classics & Jazz in the press office. Shortly after that UCJ rebranded as Decca and I eventually became Head of Media some decade later. After my first child I worked in A&R for a couple of years and eventually left when I had twins in 2015. Since 2018 I have been freelance working mainly in A&R, working on projects for Island Records, Decca & Mercury KX.

These days I am most interested in Authenticity and have found that if you believe in something then whether you are doing A&R, Marketing or PR, your passion and enthusiasm will convert others.
