About Deborah Stokol
I am a composer, lyricist, singer, pianist, and I play the Celtic harp, guitar, mandolin, record, produce, mix, and master. I have been writing music my whole life but spent most of my adult years thus far as a journalist and high school English teacher. During the pandemic, I decided to start releasing my music, and since 2020, I have put out 60 songs -- two original albums and more than 30 singles.
You can find my work on Apple, Spotify, and Amazon, and some of it is on Pandora, YouTube, Instagram, and Patreon.
I love to write music to or about literature, sacred text, the oral/bardic tradition, and mythology and have spoken and performed about this at SXSW Edu, the New Chaucer Society, Don't Block Your Blessings, Associazione Europea di Musica e Comunicazione, and other conference-venues. I have started working as a session composer and musician for podcasts and others' albums, and my most recent release is my original album, "Bard", in which I put music to the stories of Lady Macbeth, The Wife of Bath, Persephone, Emily Dickinson's poetry, Achilles, Odysseus, and other folkloric figures.
It would be wonderful to connect with other music-makers and those seeking that, and I would love to compose for TV/film and collaborate with other musicians in addition to continue creating my work and sharing it with the world. It feels so fulfilling to be doing so, and I hope to find more opportunities.

Deborah' Experience
I have composed and written lyrics my whole life and started doing this in a formal capacity for the school plays in middle school, high school, and college. After that, I continued doing so, working alone and playing in bands, and then started formally releasing music in 2020. I also started working as a session musician and writing music for others’ podcasts during that time.
I have released 60 songs, two full albums and more than 30 singles. In addition to composing, I play the piano (jazz, classical, experimental, folk, hybrid), sing, play harp, guitar, and mandolin, record, produce, mix, master, and graphic design. It is an exciting adventure, and I hope to keep creating and collaborating with others.
