I'm currently a sophomore at New York University majoring in Media, Culture, and Communication and minoring in the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. I'm looking to pursue a career in public relations or marketing within the music industry. I learned about She Is The Music just over a year ago and both believe in and resonate with it in the way it empowers women in the industry. I look forward to learning from my peers and, as I begin my professional career, doing my part in ensuring that women are equally represented.

Karla's Experience

While I have yet to work within the music industry, all of my current and previous activities have given me valuable skills that I am ready to put to use. I’m really keen on collaborating with others to create something we can all be proud of, and my current role in the Sophomore Class Activities Marketing Board has allowed me to do just that. I work with other students from all grades to coordinate and organize events, and then assist in the promotion of these events across social media. As an Administrative Assistant for a local gym, I grew my skills in outreach and assessing/catering to a target audience. Through managing its online presence, redesigning the website, and organizing and managing customer information, I gained lots of useful experience that makes me eager to get to work.
