About Kate Greeley

I am a current senior at UCLA majoring in Music Industry at the Herb Alpert School of Music. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and attended LaGuardia High School as a vocal major, which sparked my passion for music and interest in the music industry. This past summer, I worked as an A&R intern at Island Records, and before that, I worked as a social media specialist at Spinefarm Records for two years. I'm very interested in the A&R world but also eager to learn what I can about all areas of the music world!

Kate's Experience

During my internship this summer at Island Records, I spent much of my time researching social media and streaming trends to discover new artists to present to my team; this work taught me how to stay on the pulse and pay attention to significant new trends, artists, and shows. My work at Island also allowed me to better understand client relations within the industry and all of the work that goes into each client, from organizing concerts and planning tours to booking recording studios and beyond. My previous work as a Freelance Social Media Specialist at Spinefarm Records has given me a foundational understanding of record label operations and experience in marketing artists. I tracked trend cycles across social platforms, generated concepts based on upcoming releases or visual content, and tailored my ideas based on the campaign’s specific needs.
