About Kayla Mitchell

Hi, I'm Kayla, a 24-year-old creative from Los Angeles, California. Music has been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. From singing in church choir as a child to spending my adult years attending countless concerts and music festivals, music has always been more than a passion. It's a part of who I am. I currently work as a Junior Graphic Designer specializing in theatrical and social branding. While I love the creative work I do, my ultimate goal is to bring my design and marketing expertise into the music industry, where my passion truly lies. I am deeply inspired by the power of music, storytelling, and artist development. Combining my creative vision with my love for music and culture would be a dream come true. My goal is to help artists and brands tell meaningful stories, build authentic connections with audiences, and create work that leaves a lasting impact. Through SHE IS THE MUSIC, I'm excited to continue learning, growing, and building relationships with other women who are shaping the future of the music industry.

Kayla's Experience

As a Junior Designer at MOCEAN, I’ve been able to combine my skills in graphic design, marketing, creative development, post-production, and photography to create engaging visual content for entertainment and live event campaigns. My work has included designing social and promotional assets, contributing to creative concepts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure campaigns are executed effectively across multiple platforms. Through these experiences, I’ve gained a strong understanding of how design supports larger marketing goals, audience engagement, and brand storytelling. I’ve also had the opportunity to create work for major industry events such as SXSW and Amazon Upfronts, which has strengthened my ability to develop creative solutions in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.
