About Lacey Chataignier

Lacey Chataignier is passionate about her community and has spent the last 20 years fostering music industry development in Louisiana, working among the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. As Director of Louisiana's Music Programs and the acting Music Officer for the State, Lacey oversees music policies and initiatives for the Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, where she is expanding the traditional scope of the state's cultural development and tourism offices. This includes taking the lead on the Louisiana Music Trail- the state's largest music initiative to highlight the history of Louisiana's treasured music innovators and to help drive tourism and economic recovery from the pandemic. She is diligently working to preserve Louisiana's unique music culture, implement long-range music industry best practices across the state, and bridge the economic gaps to enhance the quality of life for the next generation of music-makers. Lacey previously served as Director for the nation's first economic development-driven state tax incentive program to build, renovate, and restore live performance and recording infrastructure throughout Louisiana post-Katrina. The Recording Academy recently recognized Lacey as a professional member for her career achievements and community involvement. In addition to her professional work, she is a classically trained violinist, record collector, and animal lover.
