About Lana Migliore

Growing up in a completely music driven household, I naturally gravitated toward anything sound-related from a young age. My mother, a Broadway cellist, and my father, a Jazz saxophonist, had me learning piano by age 5 and made me sing a middle C note every time I walked in the door after school. Being surrounded by such influences eventually led to picking up the guitar at age 12 and getting more interested in various genres of music – enlisting my brother to learn Rage Against the Machine songs with me since he started playing the bass. With a healthy amount of stage fright in those formative years, I started to gravitate toward the behind-the-scenes of music and became fascinated with recording and production. Eventually this led to studying Music Business and Audio Production in college, where I quickly became the most sought out producer on my campus. I recorded, mixed, and produced 4 full length albums during my time there, as well as a bunch of other projects. I spent a lot of after-hours sessions with my professors, fascinated by learning more about analog recording with tape. From there, after an internship, I got hired at my first recording studio - Hybrid Studios, in Orange County, California. Then began my real journey of learning from the greats on many sessions, including Alan Parsons, Bill Medley, Josh Wilbur, Phil Allen, Ronnie King, among other legendary producers and engineers. Some most notable projects include assistant engineering on Alan Parson’s “The Secret”, Of Mice & Men’s “Earth & Sky”, and Trivium’s “The Sin and the Sentence”, which went on to be nominated at the Grammys. Further credits include Bird & The War, Mark Morton, Killer be Killed, Soulfly, Burn the Priest, Ghostwalk, Chameleonize, Tiera Beverly, Your Favorite Color, and others. Once I left Hybrid, I moved back to my home of New York to pursue the indie scene as a freelance producer and engineer. I started running a studio out of my basement through the pandemic and worked with a lot of great local artists. As I continue to pursue the music scene, I opened my world up to audiobook post production, working for Grammy-winning company John Marshall Media as a post production manager, where I managed hundreds of project productions. Many of my projects got awards and reviews - "Bourdain: The Oral Biography" getting a shout in the New York Times. I currently run the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Voiceover studio, where actors are able to come work on animations, podcasts, audiobooks, video games, auditions, ADR, and anything that interests them in the voiceover world. Music has always been my first love, and that is why I am open to creative endeavors and ideas from artists from all different kinds of backgrounds. I emphasize my vision of providing a positive, encouraging, and comfortable session environment for my clients so that they feel as free and unrestricted as possible while creating. It is with that intention that I have succeeded in the audio industry for the last decade.
