Maria Jose has always believed in music as an universal language and as a way to share our emotions with people all over the world. She was fascinated by ability music had to enhance of guide a narrative along with a visual aid, which eventually made her pursue a career in composition for the visual media. Maria Jose currently resides in Seattle, WA after finishing her Master’s degree in Film and Videogame Scoring at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program at the Seattle Film Institute, founded and taught by the two-time Emmy Award winning composer Hummie Mann. She has done work in a variety of live action and animation short films, video games, mobile games and apps, and she is always open to collaboration.

Maria's Experience

I have been able to bring stories to life through music, through my work at a voice base storytelling app. I make music and sound effects that follow the reader and enhance the storytelling. I have also been able to share my Latin heritage through the same app and through collaborations in the promotion of the Seattle Latino Film Festival. I also have worked on a variety of live action and animations shorts, video games, mobile games and other media. I write, orchestrate, mix and master all of my own music through either the use of live musicians and recording sessions or DAWs and Sample Libraries.
