About Maria Diebolt

Hi there! My name is Maria Diebolt and I’m a 20 year old singer/songwriter from Fishers, Indiana. I’ve lived on a stage since I was about 3 years old and was involved in both competitive and recreational dance for about 15 years. While I enjoyed dance, I’ve always been passionate about music and songwriting. I started voice lessons when I was around 9 years old and had my first big performance at the age of 10. I performed on the Circle of Lights (an annual Indianapolis event and tradition) where I sang for a crowd of over 100,000 people, as well as those watching on TV from home. Since then, I knew music and performing was what I was going to do for the rest of my life. Here’s a list of accomplishments that I’ve had throughout my career thus far! Song: Shake Up the World Award: Semi-finalist in the international Unsigned Only Music Competition in the Top 40/Pop and Teen categories Song: Before You Fly Away Award: Award of Honor in the Paramount International Song and Lyrics Writing Contest Song: #Peace Award: Semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition I co-wrote and recorded three songs with LA producer Alex Cantrall (co-wrote and helped produce Leave (Get Out) by JoJo) in 2014. I was chosen as a #SpeakBeautiful Ambassador for Dove in 2015 for their VMA show marketing promotion. I’ve been using ReverbNation throughout my career and worked hard to gain a great relationship with them. I continue to hold the #1 spot on the local chart on their website and have done so for many years. I have also had multiple songs curated by their team and had Shake Up the World chosen and put into the Hitcher’s music catalog. I took part in two anti-bullying tours in 2013 (the Teen Nation Tour and the Stop Think Feel Tour) – these traveled to elementary and junior high schools across the East Coast of the US. I’ve also performed the National Anthem for over 50 organizations including the Indiana Pacers and Fever, Chicago White Sox, the PGA, Indy fuel, Indy Eleven, Butler University basketball, and more. I’ve collaborated with some local artists as well including Markell F. The God who I’m currently working with as a singer and songwriter. (This might go without saying but…) I’ve performed at many venues for many, many years across Indiana and continue to do so. Most of my gigs have consisted of cover songs, however, I’m looking to release more music and start the process of trying to get my own gigs to play more originals soon. I’m currently a sophomore at Butler University studying Recording Industry Studies. With this major, I’m learning all about the music business – marketing, audio and live production, business and law, a bit of music theory, and more. It’s a relatively small program consisting mostly of men so I’m excited to my mark as a female on the program throughout my years at Butler and help it grow into something really special! Over the next few years, I’ll gain experience in a recording studio and live event setting from an audio perspective, as well as marketing experience. I’m hoping to get/create internship(s) that fit around MY interests and not just the program’s. Thank you for taking the time to read about me and all I’ve accomplished up until now! I’m currently in the process of creating new material to release very soon so keep your eyes open for that! I’m very ambitious and have many goals and ideas just waiting to come to life and I hope you’ll stay around for the journey :) Maria xoxo If you have any questions, comments, or inquiries about me or my music, please contact mariadiebolt@gmail.com OR anndiebolt@gmail.com – or visit my website musicbymaria.com go

Maria's Experience

As artists, it’s our job to tell a story. It’s our job to make someone feel something – joy, sadness, pain, excitement. Every song is a journey, every show is an experience. Being able to create those feelings and be the source of someone’s emotions, especially happiness, is the greatest gift. Every time I write a song, I consider what I want my listener to feel when they hear it. I want to create relatable situations and feelings that everyone can identify with. I’ve been songwriting for as long as I can remember and have always strived to put my talent and skills to the test. While I can’t play any instruments (very well), I can hear what I want the song to sound like in my head. Starting from scratch isn’t easy – which is what makes it so rewarding. The past few years, I’ve been really working hard to take my songwriting skills to the next level with topline writing. I enjoy this style of writing the most because of the different directions you can take each song and the way you can write to the feeling the beat gives off. **As talked about in my bio, I’m currently a sophomore at Butler University, studying Recording Industry Studies. Two big parts of that major are audio production and live entertainment production. I’ll be learning and building these skills over the next few years and hope to have a deep, clearer understanding of most, if not all, aspects of the music industry.**
