Masha J. Davey’s passion grew from a deep rooted sense to explore and share in storytelling of one’s Truth. As a young child, she grew up listening to the myths and legends of New Orleans culture from her elders. They instilled not only a responsibility to honor the cultural and musical lineage, but a devotion to push the craft forward into places greater than just the singular self by connecting the community while pushing the boundaries of the music forward to the next generation of artists-musicians. Masha’s deep love of the “deep-pocket” rhythmic fusion of Afro-Caribbean & funk grooves, along with a fascination for soulful melodies, further pushed Masha to deepen her exploration in composing and record producing. She further developed her musical tendencies at the Berklee College of Music and released her debut record “Into the Night” in 2022 as an homage to the greats that came before her. She is committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible as a record producer and composer, while keeping her New Orleans roots at the center of her artistic identity. To share, collaborate, and to keep discovering new sonic worlds is at the heart of Masha’s musical journey. She hopes that in the process, you will join her in exploring what lies beyond.
