Nana's Experience

As a drummer, composer, producer, and singer, I have been active in the Brazilian music scene for twenty years and am constantly strengthening my connections with contemporary music.  Born in São Paulo and currently living in London, UK, I began studying piano at the age of seven and later got into drums and percussion. In 2003 I went to Drum school in London where I stayed for 2 years, and in 2008 I received a bachelor’s degree in Drums from the Faculdade de Música Carlos Gomes in São Paulo. As a drummer, I have performed throughout North and South America and Europe with artists such as Paulo Miklos, Johnny Hooker, Filipe Catto, Jaloo, Tiê, Adriano Cintra, Iara Rennó, As Mercenárias, Karina Buhr, Vive La Fete and others. As a composer, I have written music for films, TV, and series. Most recently I wrote the soundtrack for the Brazilian film Soror which has just been nominated for the Toronto International Women’s Film Festival. I also produce music for other artists, and in 2019 I was invited by Spotify Brazil to be one of the guest music producers in the “Escuta as Minas” all-female recording program.
