About Nina Himmelreich

I moved to Liverpool in 2014 and immediately joined the local music scene through my first band pink kink. As part of this project we signed a record deal, worked with a professional booking agent, PR agency and radio plugger. We played national and international shows (highlight supporting Pussy Riot), received national radio play and a lot of press attention. Since then I have been working in the music scene as a bassist for Hannah’s Little Sister and as bassist and manager for SKIA. I realised that aside from my creative interest, I have a strong passion and talent for organising and managing a project, which is also why I pursued an MA in music industry studies. My MA dissertation topic was focused on fair pay for artists and the value gap in the music market created by the takeover of streaming. As a manager for SKIA, I have been able to secure a record deal, funding for recording and promotional costs, as well as building a strong team in support of the project. We released SKIAs debut EP ‘Apricot’ in May 2020, achieving national and international radio play and over 150k streams on the EP.
