About Rebecca Leek

Rebecca Scully-Leek Music has been producing music for radio, theatre, and student films since 2019, but Rebecca has been studying and writing music since she was a kid growing up in Los Angeles, California. Upon hearing the music for E.T., that was it for her. Except it wasn't. Yet. Coming from a family of scientists, she double-majored in physics and music at the University of California at San Diego, and then pursued graduate music study at King's College London. A bachelor's is all well and good, but how to pay the bills while pursuing music? Her computer-programming sister told her to read a few books on programming and get an IT job. So Rebecca worked as a self-taught computer programmer for financial analysts and traders while in LA and then in London, but her heart was always in music. It was a real-life meet-cute when she met her husband. Rebecca just wanted to go home after work, but her friend insisted she come along to the pub. It was there, at "The Hollywood Arms" in London, that she fell in love with her future British cavalry officer husband, and now follows the drum of the British Army. Although moving around so much can be tricky, supporting her husband and the British Army as a military spouse is extremely important to her. She and her husband have two cheeky monkey daughters, one bonkers spaniel, and a small family of geckos living with them in Muscat, Oman. Rebecca has written music for the soon-to-be-released in 2023 indie short film "Stanley's Gig" (written by Alan Haldane), she's a member of the Society for Composers and Lyricists in Los Angeles, a member of the Alliance for Women Film Composers in Los Angeles, on the composer roster for Score-A-Score music library based in Los Angeles and New York City, and is currently looking to work on more up and coming projects in Oman.
