About Rue Rue

Growing up, Rue Rue sang and played the piano since she was five. She studied classical singing, actively performed live, and had her first songwriting deal in 2018 in her home country, Indonesia. Her pursuit of an MA in Music Business at NYU (2024 graduate) exposed her to the US music scene, music production skills, collaborations, and her debut as an artist in 2023. Her influences include classical music, from her engagement in ballet at a young age and classical singing training. She is a big musical theatre fan, which has shaped her music immensely from classical-leaning to jazz and the contemporary side of that world.

Rue' Experience

Growing up as a singer and songwriter, Rue Rue has sung since she was five, studied classical singing, actively performed live, and had her first songwriting cut in 2018 in her home country, Indonesia. Her pursuit of an MA in Music Business at NYU (2024 graduate) exposed her to the US music scene, including as a finalist in the Ultra Violet Live 2023, where Lady Gaga notoriously won 2nd prize, performances in historic venues like The Birdland Jazz Club, university fundraising concerts, curated open mic nights, like the Song Suffragettes’ NYC, and more. Outside of her development as a performer, her private composition class enhanced Rue Rue’s songwriting and music production skills, leading to Rue Rue’s debut as an artist in 2023. She continued to pursue her all-rounder music professional dream in London as an International A&R at Sony Music Publishing who sings, writes, and produces songs on weekends.
