About Ryann Fretschel

Ryann Lecklider (Fretschel) is an American independent singer-songwriter heavily influenced by legendary vocalists like Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Her style is definitively pop with a punch of soul and a penchant for thoughtful lyrics. In 2014, with the help of Idle Tuesdays Recording Studio, Ryann recorded her first project, The Detours EP, a short collection of songs lyrically focused on the challenges of chasing dreams. Since then, Ryann has released "Don’t Make Me Choose," a heartfelt ballad featured on the Los Angeles Songwriters Collective EP vol 1 and her most recent single, "Welcome to Reality," in July of 2017. Her next project, an eight-song pop/soul album, is in its production phase and will be released sometime in 2019. Ryann is also a team member of the Los Angeles Songwriters Collective, a group focused on developing community and creative growth for songwriters in the Los Angeles area.

Ryann's Experience

I write pop/soul/R&B songs, so far only for my own artist projects, but I’m very interested in writing for other artists. And while I can write some great, thoughtful lyrics, I’d say melody is my strength (as it flows most creatively in sessions). I also teach a workshop focused on getting the most out of your melodies through the Los Angeles Songwriters Collective in DTLA. I play enough piano and guitar to create interesting chord and melody pairings in my songwriting but wouldn’t play live (yet). Lastly, I’m a lifelong vocalist–I’ve had the opportunity to do some session singing for pop demos and some ad work, and I sing in a live setting weekly.
