About Sabine Salame

Journalist and Psychodrama therapist from Beirut, Lebanon. I write and perform rap in Arabic. My music is sincere and reflects on issues that I have experienced, from social inequality to living through an apocalyptic Beirut, to cooping with various traumas and mental health issues. I would say that my style is both dark and ironic but most of the irony gets lost in translation when I attempt it. I won the Arab Fund For Arts and Culture 2 years ago for my debut EP "living with survival" which was released last year. I'm currently working on an Album.

Sabine's Experience

I’ve been writing since I was 11 years old. What started as a way to document my thoughts or express what I’m afraid to speak out loud, later developed into a career in journalism for 7 years, through which I was writing about issues related to social inequality and environmental issues. I quickly noticed that in journalism there are a lot of restrictions. I started to experiment with rap after a friend suggested it as part of a joke. But with my love for poetry and music I found a great comfort in this new medium. So I worked on it for 3 years until I eventually won a fund that enabled me to create my first EP and learn how to become better at it in the process. I’m still starting off, but I put a lot of heart into what I’m doing, and I won’t stop learning and developing my skills.
