Sara's Experience

In high school, I picked up a camera and began my journey photographing live music events at local venues which threw me straight into the fire of the music industry. I found my passion and began attending shows regularly and trying to play any role I could. Fast forward to this year- I began touring with a reggae artist as the Merchandise Manager and tour managing while shooting every single night. Outside of the touring world, I have been the Director of Visual and New Media for Aztec Music Group in San Diego crafting artists/bands images and holding regular events including a panel with Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman. My goal is to be versatile and have skills in every aspect of the music industry so I can continue to grow and tour- slowly ending the stigma of the music industry being a “boys club”.

Women Sharing The Spotlight is founded in the ethos that when we make more space for each other, when we bring more women into the room, we create a vibrant spirit and ecosystem of mentorship, growth and opportunity -- together. This is a unique event for industry leaders to not only converge and celebrate -- but to share their platforms, their voices, and their strength with one another and with the next generations of women forging the path ahead.

The list has been selected by our advisory council as one of 50 exceptional women to be celebrated for your 20+ years of remarkable achievement, contribution and impact in music.

Rooted in the conviction that 'We Are Stronger Together', we have asked each honoree to nominate another woman they admire to share the spotlight.

Women Sharing The Spotlight is envisioned as an annual celebration, creating a platform to elevate and empower women who are shaping the future of music.
