Sarah's Experience

For as long as I can remember, I have been passionately curious about the world and other people. I believe this stemmed from a deep understanding of myself, which was catalyzed on a whim when I decided I wanted to turn my writing into music (self-taught guitar and piano from YouTube, cold-emailed producers in the area to learn how to make a “real song”). This ended up opening doors for me, as other musicians offered to collaborate vs. a “pay-for-play.” Since then, I have worked and written music for companies including FOX, Viacom, Universal, etc. and have even had songs featured in international blockbuster films (most recently, I was able to travel to Japan and heard my song in theaters!). This same curiosity brought me to Boston, across the country from home, where I attended Boston College and studied finance in an attempt to paint a backdrop to my passion for the arts – by familiarizing myself with the economic frameworks that drive our society. I interned for two summers in investment banking, and have been working full time as private equity investor in sectors that are largely predictable and systematic in nature (i.e. industrials, large-cap tech), which strongly contrasts music. The mental push and pull of working with both numbers and art, combined with a genuine passion for people, perspective, and life continue to inspire me everyday.
