Shannon's Experience

I am finishing my master of international business after obtaining my undergraduate degree in public relations with a minor in business administration, all at the University of Florida. My passion for marketing and business has taken me on a career journey in which I want to help businesses grow online and connect with future loyal consumers. In my role at TikTok, I communicated and worked collaboratively across many departments within the Global Business Solutions team to create events that would further TikTok’s marketing and partnership initiatives to the mutual benefit of TikTok and its industry partners. I also connected with many people across the music department to understand the essential functions and responsibilities of the music department of Artist and Label Partnerships, Editorial, and Music Business Development. Through this, I exhibited knowledge of the marketplace, competitors, and current trends and innovations of TikTok’s influence on the music industry. In my previous role as an International Marketing Intern with Warner Music Group, I ensured the successful execution of artist marketing globally across traditional, influencer, and social media/digital marketing verticals and streaming platforms. Within this, I could analyze key campaign statistics and data points to measure the campaign’s international success. This allowed me to track, review, and evaluate data metrics and culturally relevant moments and identify with a cross-functional team those artists that WMG could promote. During my undergraduate degree, I worked as the President of Swamp Records. In this leadership role, I identified and established opportunities to develop efficient operations for 80 personal team workloads. This was my foremost opportunity to establish an entire organization within all functional aspects of eight teams, including branding, marketing, booking, and more. This allowed our organization to support the local music scene and its artists to find opportunities and foster partnerships. I also produced two live music events that generated double our revenue two years in a row to support our local music scene and musicians.
