About Syd Caldera

Syd Caldera is a singer-songwriter from Tulsa, Oklahoma currently living in Brooklyn, New York. Her most recent project, a four-song EP entitled Hasta La Bye Bye, was recorded from her bedroom studio in Brooklyn and mixed and mastered by LA-based producer Jonah Wei-Haas. Released digitally in July 2019, the release is a reflection on her process of finding and maintaining serenity and mental health while establishing a life in NYC. In May of 2019, Syd was honored to travel to Asheville, North Carolina, to compete and perform songs from Hasta La Bye Bye, as a finalist in the New Song Songwriters' Competition at the LEAF Festival. The following August, she was a featured artist on the Songwriter Deathmatch Radio Show out of Maker Park Radio in Staten Island. She is currently recording a new series of works at the Beach Hut Recording Studio in Rockaway Park, Queens, with producers Chris Uelein and Ben Deixler. Syd's Experience

Recording Artist since 2014, my 2019 EP “Hasta La Bye Bye” was recorded in my home studio using a basic set up. An acoustic guitarist for 15+ years, vocalist since I could stand up, great with melody and harmony. Guitar leans towards swing rhythms and jazz harmonics – lots of major sevens, like to throw in a 9 or a 6 chord tastefully for the ballads. Love driving rhythms and want to energize listeners. Ableton Producer since 2014, sound design, beat writing, co-writing, especially electronic and alternative pop. Topliner since 2019 – new single dropping soon with Unkle Funkle! – I’ve done a lot of work alone and want to expand into the master mind!! I am very, very, interested in collaborating with producers, lyricists, and topliners! Ultimately my goal is to surround myself with soundwriting in all aspects of my life – professionally, spiritually, and in friendship. HMU! 🙂 Love live performing – very comfortable on stage playing live guitar and singing live vocal lead or as a backup singer. Been on stage since I could stand first in choirs and then in theater. Love to be fitted in urban / hip styles, get dressed up and get into the character and vibe of a show – especially if it’s badass or funny or all out. Audio Technician for live pro audio in NYC – experienced in small- to mid-size events, mixing corporate audio, playback, record feeds, A2 duties, live bands, conferences, parties, and fashion shows.
