Cristina's Experience

Over the last few years I have worked really hard to learn as much as I can while working in my current role as a street team promotions assistant. My educational background differs from my current career because I decided to take a chance on myself to pursue my passions and shift toward a career in radio and the music industry. I love live music and supporting my favorite artists so I’m hoping to find a way to do something along those lines as a career. I have volunteered as a DJ at my college radio station which set the groundwork for my path in radio; I’ve gained experience in audio-recording & editing and I’ve worked in internet based and terrestrial radio. I’m learning more about podcasts as I transition to that format while also creating a blog site to share my work. I have volunteered in PR, writing pitches, creating social media posts, gathering research and assisting an organization in maintaining contact with their audiences when their work was disrupted by COVID. I work in radio right now which has been a great learning experience in several ways, whether it’s with setting up for live or remote events, connecting with our listeners or assisting directors of various departments as they strive to create content to share with our community. Overall, I try to find ways to learn new things as often as possible so I can work my way up through the station.
