DJ Waves is here to crash the dance floor. With nearly a decade in the game and a lifetime of musical knowledge, her sets will take you down a rabbit hole of sonic pleasure. Waves is a regular on the resident DJ team for Live Nation’s Budweiser Stage, known for spinning pre + post show concert parties at the venue as well as other Toronto hot spots such as Bovine and Cherry Cola's. Connection is what it’s all about in the DJ booth--getting people from different walks of life to share a moment and a song. Spinning vinyl and digital tracks, her sets span every genre and time-period, making for an eclectic collection of sounds that is groovy, nostalgic, daring, and euphoric. Waves' Experience

Starting as a DJ in 2013, I quickly learned how to brand and market myself, along with being my own booking agent. All of my visuals such as promotions/event posters/web design are my own doing and I’ve been able to apply my knowledge from Toronto’s OCAD University where I studied photography and general arts. I’ve worked various jobs in music along with DJing, constantly wanting to expand my knowledge of the industry by learning different aspects of it. I’ve been employed by Live Nation Toronto and MLSE since 2014 as Event Staff, VIP Manager, Live Production Assistant, AV Assistant Director, and Customer Service Manager. I currently DJ full time and do part-time work as an AV Assistant Director for club level shows in Toronto, doing camera work and direction for in-house venue feeds and live streams. Since 2014 I’ve been a resident DJ for Live Nation at their 16,000 capacity venue, Budweiser Stage in Toronto. I perform for pre and post show sets for every concert that comes to the venue, and specially curate the music to match the touring artist coming through. I’m able to easily adapt and read a room to provide an amazing experience for everyone from fans, to artists, to industry people who may be in the venue. As Budweiser Stage is an outdoor venue, during the off season I am the resident DJ at the El Mocambo club in Toronto. I work with production to provide specially curated music and play DJ sets that ensure a full night-out experience for fans from the moment they walk in the venue, to the minute they leave post-concert. I spin both digital and all-vinyl sets for pre and post show parties, as well as for private events and industry nights that are held in the space.
